PA12 is also known as nylon 12, polydecyl lactam, or polylauroyl lactam. It is a long-chain nylon. It has excellent comprehensive properties, low water absorption rate, good low-temperature resistance, good air tightness, and good mechanical and electrical properties. It has excellent mechanical properties and high durability as well as the highest possible reliability. Its properties can be significantly improved through chemical or physical modification. For example, by adding glass fiber materials, the water absorption and dimensional stability can be greatly improved, and the strength and toughness of the resin can also be enhanced.
The thermal decomposition temperature of PA12 is higher than 350℃, and its long-term usage temperature is 80-90℃. The gas tightness of the PA12 membrane is excellent, and the water vapor permeability is 9g/m2.
The PA12 film is transparent and non-toxic. It has a low permeability to water vapor and gases (O2, N2, CO2). Its performance remains unchanged after being stored in boiling water for one year. It can be used for the production of film sheets. It can be used to protect and package food, featuring good preservation of aroma, resistance to steam sterilization and good low-temperature properties. Nylon 12 has good adhesion to metals. When bonding food, the sealing value reaches 100% and the peel strength is high.
